Management of Elections by the Executive Office
All candidates must submit their intent to run by the designated deadline. Each candidate has the option to submit, with their intent to run, a photograph and 600 word bio which will be posted to the OSCA Election tab on the OSCA website.

This information must be received by 4:30 pm on Tuesday, September 5th for Officer Elections. It will then be forwarded to the campaign committee for consideration.  The OSCA will post submitted and approved candidate information, including photos and the 600 word bio, if provided, to the Election tab on the OSCA page prior to the first election email that goes out to membership. This information will remain on the election tab of the OSCA website until the completion of the election.

The OSCA will create an Election Tab on the OSCA website. This page will contain general election information. During election periods, it will also contain the candidates that are running for each position, and their photo and bio, if they have submitted it by the deadline.

OFFICER ELECTIONS
Candidates may submit one version of a campaign piece which will be reviewed by the Campaign Committee for accuracy.  The campaign piece must be submitted to the Executive office by the second Wednesday of the election month and must be in a PDF or word processing file.

The Executive Office will send out 3 emails to membership at the time of officer elections.

The first email will be sent in advance of the election and will include an announcement of the election window and link to the election page where all candidates and their information can be viewed.

The second email will go out Monday morning at 8:00 am of election week, announcing that the election period has opened, as well as a link to the OSCA election page where all candidates and their information can be viewed.

The third email will go out Thursday at noon and will remind members that the election closes the next day, Friday at 4:30 pm. It will also contain the link to the OSCA election page where all candidates and their information can be viewed.

The link to vote will come out via a separate, secure third party election email.

Candidates will be listed by the position for which they are running. In a contested race, the incumbent will be listed first, and the opposing candidate(s) will be listed next.

In the event there are no contested officer positions, the candidates will be listed on the OSCA elections page, however, no campaign pieces will be distributed, and a link to vote will not be created.

DISTRICT DIRECTOR ELECTIONS

District Directors may also submit a photo and 600 word bio for their election. If so, this must be received by the designated deadline to submit intent to run.  The bio and photo will be displayed on the OSCA website election tab. In a contested election, a link will be included in each of the 3 emails sent out to members in your district.

In the event there are no contested District Director positions, an election will not occur.
